This is your source of information for the Central Hockey Club, a combined program with players from Central High School (District #301) and Hampshire High School (District #300). 

We are a combined Junior Varsity team and play in the Illinois Suburban Hockey League (ISHL).  You can learn more about the ISHL at www.ISHL.us.

The Central Hockey Club plays all of its home games at the Leafs Ice Centre in West Dundee.  Please refer to the Rink Maps tab for more information and directions/map.

Central Hockey Club suffers two losses
 

Sunday, November 16  Central Hockey Club 1, Guerin/Nazareth 9 (at Franklin Park Ice Arena)
Central was unable to stop the high powered offense of Guerin/Nazareth on Sunday  evening, with Carney Bethel having to face 40 shots while Central was only able to get off 12.  Matt Buttice scored his first high school goal in the first period, assisted by Mitch Plum.  However, that was al
l the scoring that Central could mount in this difficult early season game.

Saturday, November 15  Central Hockey Club 2, Leyden Eagles 4 (at the Leafs Ice Centre)
The Central Hockey Club and Leyden hooked up in an exciting game at the Leafs Centre with Leyden coming away with the win, scoring 4 goals on 30 shots while holding Central to 2 goals on 16 shots.  Jon Paul scored Central's first goal in the first period with an assist from Mike Cleghorn.  Mitch Plum scored the other Central goal in the third period, assisted by Mitch Crocetti.

Sunday, November 9  Central Hockey Club 7, Riverside/Brookfield 6 (at Addison Ice)
Central rebounded from the Saturday night beating with a strong performance highlighted by special teams play and two natural hat tricks to notch an exciting win on Sunday morning.  Adam Petschow and Carney Bethel shared goaltending duties, turning away 33 of 39 shots with Petschow earning the victory.  Mitch Plum scored a first period natural hat trick; Dom Genchi followed with a natural hat trick of his own and Jon Paul rounded out the scoring with the game-winning goal in the third period.  Jerry Martinez and Mitch Crocetti each had two assists, while Matt Buttice, Mitch Plum, Jon Paul and Don Genchi had one each.


Saturday, November 8  Central Hockey Club 3, South Elgin Storm 12 (at the Leafs Ice CentreThe South Elgin Storm came to play as they total overpowered Central with a dominating offensive performance.  Central was able to only get 9 shots on goal with 3 going up on the scoreboard while South Elgin took aim with 37.  Central's goals came off the sticks of Mitch Crocetti (Mitch Plum assist), Mitch Plum (Matt Buttice assist, first high school point) and Dom Genchi (Jon Paul assist).

Sunday, November 2   Central Hockey Club 11, Wheaton Warrenville South  1  (at the
Leafs Ice Centre)  The first win of the season for Central turned into a offensive show as Dom Genchi, Jon Paul and Mitch Plum led the way  with strong performances.  Genchi had 7 points (4 goals, 2 assists), Paul had 8 points (3 goals, 5 assists) and Plum finished with 6 points (2 goals, 4 assists).  Carney Bethel turned away 9 of 10 shots to get the win.  Central freshmen Zach Plum and Mitch Crocetti scored their first high school goals.  Freshman Seth Bartosik also contributed with a goal and an assist.

Sunday, October 18
  Central Hockey Club 3, Lemont 4 (at the Leafs Ice Centre)   In its second League game, Central turned up the offense and played close to Lemont, losing 4-3 at the Leafs Ice Centre.  Missing upperclassmen Dom Genchi and Mike Cleghorn, the Central freshman contributed with first high school goals recorded by Kevin Riordan (first period) and Seth Bartosik on the only Central powerplay of the evening (third period).  Freshman Zach Plum contributed two assists to the effort while brother Mitch Plum scored a second period goal.  Jon Paul recorded an assist in his first game back.




Sunday, October 12     Central Hockey Club 1, Mount Carmel #1 8  (at the Leafs Ice Centre) In its home opener and first League game of the season, Central ran into a tough and disciplined Mt. Carmel team who controlled play all game long.  Mt. Carmel out shot Central 36-7 and converted 8 of the shots into goals while forcing most of the play in the Central end of the ice.

Central's lone goal came late in the third period on a one-timer by Mitch Plum with the assist from Mike Cleghorn.

The Central Hockey Club and "Skates" -- the AHL Calder Cup Champion Chicago Wolves mascot -- celebrated the annual Burlington Fall Festival
on Sunday, September 7th.

An absolutely beautiful day in Burlington was enhanced with the participation of  "Skates" and the Central Hockey Club in the annual parade and Festival in Burlington's Village Park.


















The Central Hockey Club is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization with Players from Central High School (District #301), Hampshire High School (District #300), DeKalb High School (District #428) and Sycamore High School (District #427).   The program is self-governed, self-funded and self-insured.  It is not officially affiliated with any of the aforementioned school districts.  The Central Hockey Club operates under the regulations and guidelines of USA Hockey and the Amateur Hockey Association of Illinois (AHAI).
